Rays of Hope
The art of controlling just the shutter speed can get an effect that shows a different view of the same scene. It was an extremely hot Indian afternoon, and the sun was burning my skin; I had sun burns that day, but it's normal for me as a Western Ghats Roamer. This is a story from the past; if I'm recalling right, it was my first day handling a DSLR, and I was playing with different functions. The first day was on a hill-top temple named Neelkantheshwar. I've published a twin-dam view photo in my post on Panshet and Varasgaon — Twin Dams; it was taken from Neelkantheshwar. The above skyscape photo was taken when we decided to return. The thought that provoked my mind to use the high shutter speed of 4000th part of a second was my eagerness to reduce the sun's heat. What I received in the photo were the rays of hope for photography as a profession.

There is something almost spiritual about this photograph - as though the clouds of heaven are parting to show the arrival of the Deity! Incredible picture, Bhavesh!

This may seem odd to you, but I have lost my mom and dAD AND ALL OF MY SIBLINGS, MY 2ND HUSBAND and my oldest son and when I see this picture it renews my hope that when I do die I can join them in that beautiful sky. I know that not a lot of people believe that way but to me that is how I survived, emotionally and physically. That shot of the sky brings me peace. Thank you.
