St. Mary’s Church, Pune

St. Mary’s Church in Pune city is said to be the oldest church of the Deccan Plateau. It was built by Lieutenant Nash of the East India Company. Bishop Reginald Heber [the Bishop of Calcutta then] laid the foundation of the building in 1825.

St. Mary’s Church is a large building indeed. There is a lot of space around the church, adding to the peaceful feeling. The roses in different colors are quite beautiful.
