I didn't know that just 33 kilometers from my home, there's a beautiful temple of Ram, Sita and Laxman, named Ramdara! I came to know about it when Megha read it in a local newspaper. My friend Pramod also showed it in another local newspaper. We later searched for it, and went there last Sunday. "Beauty" is the word for the place. There are tall coconut trees, huge rain trees that we call "kaurav-pandav", trees with tasty jaamun, pure neem trees, etc. There's a small lake also, but it smelled bad and was green by algae. However it made the scene more serene :) See the photos as follows…
Reaching there is super-easy. Here are the driving directions for reaching Ramdara Temple…
• Reach Loni on NH9 on Pune-Solapur national highway [see the map below to know where Loni is].
• Cross the bridge after Loni.
• Take immediate right turn after the bridge.
• Take the first right on a raw road.
• Drive about 6 kilometers to reach Ramdara Temple.
Following is the map showing Loni…

Sorry, I couldn't locate the temple on the map! But it's easy to reach once you reach Loni :)

ReplyDelete@ Isabella: Glad you liked it! You have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDelete@ Anu: I have no idea, but it looks like a new one, may not be very new.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful. It happens so often that we are so near to serene and beautiful things, yet unaware!
ReplyDelete@ Neha: Very true :)
ReplyDeleteThe temple looks beautiful.this is what happens...we roam around the world seeing nice places not knowing more beauty exists around us
ReplyDeleteBeauthifuul temple!
ReplyDeleteI expect "to walk with a prize"!
Premiul il meriti prietene!
maravilloso templo, cuántas bellezas en tu tierra!!!
ReplyDeleteun abrazo.
I like the way the water outside matches the colors of the temple inside! lol
ReplyDeletePerhaps that one day your directions will help me find the way to this temple, who knows!
The colors are absolutely amazing. The temple looks like it is in the middle of a green oasis - I was surprised by your map that shows the area is quite populated.
ReplyDeleteHi Bhavesh,
ReplyDeleteThis is a splendid temple.... WEhat a beauty and nice pictures you got!!! THanks for sharing.
Beautiful and serene.
ReplyDeleteIt's a lovely sight -- I hope the water will clear later. The heat and the small size conspire to make an "algal bloom" - our one small pond in town does likewise, looking like split pea soup but smelling awful.
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful sight and you do wonders with your blog.
ReplyDeleteIndeed, it is a beautiful place. I really love the many colors. Too bad there isn't some way to rid the water of its foul smell! When I make it to India, Bhavesh, you must take me there!
ReplyDeleteThat is a beauty place. May I copy the first photo to try and paint in art class? Mother aways told me to ask first. Too bad the lake smelled bad . Peace
ReplyDeleteI have to agree. This is a truly beautiful place and I am sure the beauty is in the spirit too.
ReplyDeleteAh, a place of nervana

ReplyDeleteits nice to have people admire the place you are intimately connected to. i have been visiting that place since being a newborn and to those who can get the significance im a disciple of the original guru who built the temple and excavated the lake himself. if anyone wants more info about the place you can contact me at rubyqueen23@gmail.com

ReplyDeleteIn 1991 I was a young girl and visited ramdara and guruji shree dhundi baba for the first time he was the holiest man I ever saw his aura and shiva like purity made ramdara and babaji unforgettable. For 10 years I went there almost every week on my bike and those days were so blessed I left India in 2001 .i am in far away Canada but babajis spirit is always with me. I will never forget my ramdara days than you for the pictures and the memories.
ReplyDeleteI was in a very bad state when I visited Babaji after I lost my mother.
ReplyDeleteHe changed my life. I will never forget the he changed my life with his blessings. I thing we will never meet such kind of person with holy powers. He predicted most of the things in my life and till date they are happening exactly the same way. its unfortunate that we lost you.
we love you Babaji.
Fascinating to see a temple and religious art so different from my own.
