A Common Rose Butterfly feeding on Marigolds. The Common Rose Butterfly is also known as Atrophaneura Aristolochiae, Pachliopta Aristolochiae, Swallowtail Butterfly.

It was unexpected for us to find blooming Marigolds on our way back from Mayureshwar Wildlife Sanctuary. It was a private flowering farm. To add to our joy was this Common Rose Butterfly going crazy looking at so much nectar to drink from. We closed in, and the Swallowtail Butterfly closed in too! The result was this colorful beauty.

An orange tabby cat looking back at you. It is a living version of Garfield I say.

What a beauty! The Garfield of our residential society has posed numerous times for me. This time, I had my camera in hand. Contrary to the popular belief, the cat was stalked by a human. I was ready, seeing the orange tabby cat from the viewfinder. As soon as it looked back, I released the shutter.

Pigeons are beautiful too. A parent female pigeon posing nicely for her photo session.

"Marathi Manoos" as the locals say. The photograph is of 2 residents of a small village of Maharashtra in their traditional attire. Perhaps the turban and the white head gear represent different ranks.

A few days back, on our return way from Mayureshwar Wildlife Sanctuary, these 2 Marathi Manoos were passing by drawing our attention especially with the big pink turban. The camera did the rest of the work. If I'm not wrong, the big turban indicates that he's a shepherd, and the white head gear [called Topi] indicates that he's a farmer. Wonder what they must be chatting — "Do you know we are 2 of the last few left in this world with our traditional jobs? Silly people of the new world are doing something crazy. I mean, don't we love our original raw life?"
