We visited the beautiful Chaskaman Dam a few days back on our way to Bhimashankar from Pune. The dam had went dry, although not completely, due to delayed monsoon this year, revealing the land that otherwise would have been under water. And life on land did not leave this opportunity! Beautiful hues of green, yellow, orange, etc. are of growing grass, and blooming flowers on the land that has showed up for a few weeks. The scene reminded me of a photo that I saw from Iceland with such spectacularly colored land; perhaps those were minerals and not life.
