At the sunset time in Matheran, I was able to photograph this amazing thing. Look closely, the Moon and the Sun are both showing their beauty and uniqueness in one scene. For those who wish to enjoy this photograph in detail, please scroll down; I have put in a larger image, which you can keep on scrolling until you reach the sun :)
Matheran is a very beautiful place. Me and my wife were there for 2 days last month. We knew that the sunset point is a beautiful place and you get to see one of the most beautiful sunsets on the planet, standing 800 meters (2625 feet) above the sea level with giant mountains all around. We reached there just 10 minutes before the sunset time. We were not just lucky to see that sunset, but luckier because we were able to see the moon with sunset. Enjoy the large size scrolling photograph below. |

lovely capture indeed!!
ReplyDeleteThanks :)
ReplyDeleteHaven't seen new post on your blog for a long time.
The enlarged photo is really stunning as you scroll down towards the sun.
ReplyDeleteI see you mention western and indian music combinations on your profiles - do you know about the Scottish Chamber Orchestra tour of India in February, featuring Amjad Ali Khan in a specially composed piece for sarod and orchestra?
Thanks for the appreciation Linda.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry; I don't know about that! When is it and in which city is it going to be held? I would love to be there. Please give me any information you have.
Oh excellent. I think that would make a great poster..
ReplyDeleteLucky timing to catch that sunset!
ReplyDeleteThat is a very interesting photo. It's not often you can get a photo of the moon and the sun together.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the interesting idea Angela. I think, I should make a poster as well as a long calendar for 2009
ReplyDeleteThat was a real luck Mr Strömsjö. You're right :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Gramma
ReplyDeleteBhavesh, your blog is always a pleasure to read. You have fantastic collection of photographs.
ReplyDeleteExcellent shot!
ReplyDeleteDid you stitch two to three shots together?!
Hi Bhavesh,
ReplyDeleteI have the same doubt Indrani has...
and you know Indrani and me are class mates during our Engg degree...
btw, this shot is something very special howsoever you captured it. If it were me, I would have stored it for a life time :)
I have another blog called Certain Kind of Woman..hope you would take a bit of time to read me there too..No hurry :)
wishes,
devika
Thank you Mansi :) I am happy
ReplyDeleteIndrani and Devika, you both are right; it's a vertical panorama.
ReplyDeleteNice to know you both were classmates, now perhaps, blogmates. I just invented a new word.
Don't worry Devika, I am sure I am going to store this for life time. And, I will surely visit your Certain Kind of Woman blog.
it's a great shot... thanks for visiting my blogs.
ReplyDeleteThank you tr3nta. You have a great Madrid photo collection. I like the glass reflections that you have shown on your blog.
ReplyDeleteLovely photo of the sky. Wonderful to capture the sun and the moon. You might like to join skywatch friday with beautiful sky photos of yours. http://skyley.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to show this! I'm glad you got there for the sunset! Whenever the sun and moon are out in the sky together, I always wonder what the rest of the world is seeing...total darkness??? This would be wonderful for Skywatch!
ReplyDeleteYou are so right! Amazing and what I think is especially amazing is your big size photo! How many centimeters (inches) long?
ReplyDeleteWow this is the longest photo on the blog I have seen, nice that you were able to caputure it. You know I have once seen on the horizon, one side was sun and 180 degrees later there was a moon. And how do you take a picture of that, lol? Anna :)
ReplyDeleteThat is one very neat photograph. I love the big version.
ReplyDeleteSure alicesg. I have requested Skywatch Friday to permit me to join. Thanks for informing.
ReplyDeleteThank you Mary.
ReplyDeleteI too wonder the same. So I drew it on and got the result. I think this is what happens. Click Here to view the image.
No any worry, as there is no any hurry, my dear Chhatbar :)
ReplyDeleteI just wanted you to know a complete picture...than a train shot at one of my blogs -- which is not taken by me :)
And after all blogmates -- as you say have to coexist...But unfortunately seems like all class mates cannot be blogmates.
Reason -- you would know the rules of the blogworld...i was a bit late in knowing that!
wishes,
devika
Thank you Peter for your good words.
ReplyDeleteThe original photograph that I have with me (much larger than the one I have posted) can be printed 42 inches (106 centimeters) high with acceptable resolution (200 DPI). If needs to be printed wither better sharpness (300 DPI), it can be printed as high as 28 inches (71 centimeters).
Hello Anna,
ReplyDeleteThank you for the appreciation.
The situation given by you can be captured in 2 ways…
• using a fish-eye lens
• using panoramic photography
Hope this helps :) I would love to see the photograph that you will capture whenever in the future you get the same situation :)
And you are a very good photographer Anna. I saw your blog (even some old posts). You have taken nice photographs. I liked the goat photographs in your November post.
