What a beautiful dam this is that you'll never find it alone. There are always crowds of people present on its shores to admire its beauty and take some pleasure from its green blue waters.
Khadakwasla dam is just 10 kilometers from my home, and is a beautiful evening destination for almost all in Pune.
Here is a view of this dam's backwaters…
Lovely!

Hi Thérèse,
ReplyDeleteEven we were astonished to see the brightness and contrast of the scene physically being there!
Right Deepak. The clouds are in fact creating the magic in the photo.
ReplyDeleteHey Peter, that is the same question I always ask whenever I visit any dam. And you know there are dozens of dams here in Pune.
ReplyDeleteAhhhh, Bhavesh, my friend, you always create images I want to be in!! So beautiful. So peaceful. I agree, those clouds are the star of the shot. Well done as always!
ReplyDeleteI thought it is somewhere in Himachal.

Bhavesh, thanks for this post since it reminded me to ask you something. Firstly you and your spouse should enter into greatdrivingchallenge and secondly pl. tell me if its worth to go to Chandoli wildlife sanctuary and are there decent places to stay around there...Thomas (suresh_anand@hotmail.com)

ReplyDeleteHi Sarah,

Faboulous photo. Lucky you to have such a nice place so close:)
ReplyDeleteI've lived all my life by the sea and I can't imagine being far from water! It's great you live only 10 minutes away from this beautiful spot.
ReplyDeleteThanks Hobo :)
ReplyDeleteHi Thomas,
ReplyDeleteI will surely check the greatdrivingchallenge out. Thanks for suggesting :)
I'm really not sure whether visiting the Chandoli Wildlife Santuary is worth, as for me, looking at the photographs on the internet, it seems to be just another Western Ghat destination. Only a couple of photographs showed the real forest effect. But it's all in the photographer's eye, and the extent to which the person is willing to explore the beauty of the place. I'm sure the place is a delightful place, but not presented properly. So before visiting, I recommend you contact the forest officer or the person who knows the place completely. If you check on WikiPedia, there's good information provided there, but not adequate.
As I have never visited this place, I have no clue how you will feel this place if you go there.. It seems that it's been declared and protected as a sanctuary just a couple of years back — in 2007. So it should be a mixed place — remnants of the man-made structures + old forests.
Let me know if I can be of further help.
Regards,
Bhavesh
Thank you for appreciating Dana
