On a unique journey to a ghostly place named Bhangadh, I found this beauty near a small hand pump. No no, it's not a diversion; I'll publish a post on Bhangadh very soon, but could not resist to showcase the beauty of the natural creation first. Enjoy the photos of the Indian Myna [AKA Mynah, Common Myna, Acridotheres Tristis, मैना]. It's a member of the Starling family of birds.
If you know fear you are within fear, if you do not know you do not what is fear.
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful photo. waiting to see Bhangadh.
ReplyDeleteVery nice bird in discreet colours.
ReplyDeleteGood week Bhavesh.

ReplyDeleteVery strange this Myna... So different in the head and in the body expression.
ReplyDeleteI have read of the Myna bird. In fact a shop owner who went out of business had a black one that he said was a Myna bird and it was all black and talked. We heard it talk and it was allowed to fly around his shop.
ReplyDeleteGreat photo, he looks smart with the yellow legs, bill and patch by the eye.
ReplyDeleteso beautiful!
ReplyDeleteVery common but very beautiful, just like the European Starling. Phil

This is an excellent picture...they are talkers, these birds, I've heard. I remember a tree, outside what was then the Kahala Hilton in Honolulu. The birds would return at sunset, filling the tree and jabbering nonstop. God forbid, you walked underneath!
