Probably a few hundred thousand years ago, a flower decided that it needs to look different than any other flower, and be one of the most beautiful ones. It thought a lot and concluded that the almighty sun is the only source to do that. From that day, it has been looking at the sun! Its decision was correct.
I love the sunflower. It is such a brave and happy plant! I especially love how your photograph captured the precision of the "Fibonacci Sequence" in the flower's center.
Lovely shots... I remember once in my college first year in geometry classes, my teacher got this extremely zoomed in close up of the sunflower pollen to describe the geometry in nature... :)
Oh, fascinating and lovely. You know the sunflower is actually a composite of thousands of flowers -- all the tiny buds you show are actually individual flowers. They join together to form that huge gorgeous head and have better luck attracting the pollinators.
I love your photos! I wish I had thought of photographing sunflowers the way you did when I was in Japan's sunflower capital. Maybe you can make it there once Covid is over - http://www.trekkingwithbecky.com/sunflower-capital-japan/ :)
You could not have picked a better topic as the sunflower, as far as I am concerned. Those photos are great.
