Newborn Plants in Veer Dam Soils

So sorry Sarah for not posting anything yesterday. I hope this post will make you happy.

This time is of reduced water levels in the backwaters of every dam in India. Veer dam is no exception to that. The reduced water level means highly fertile new soil for a short period. Seeds don't lose this opportunity. They apply their full capacity to germinate in an attempt to become trees. There are many trees in the making. Some are photographed by me.

I'm so happy to see the baby plants that will one day become the contributors for the betterment of the pristine environment the planet has developed in millions of years. In my opinion, trees are the most generous species on the planet.

  6. Hi Bhavesh,

Your photographs are beautiful and so very different from what I am used to seeing here in the US. Your area looks so lush and rich.

Thank you so much for your visit. Wishing you a beautiful day.

  10. Hi There, Your photography is great, Bhavesh. Seeing the little trees just gives me HOPE. Trees are so important.. I am lucky that we have so many around here. We even have a rule in our neighborhood that we cannot cut down any trees without replacing them.

  14. I agree with some of the other comments - you really do awesome work - to show the miracle of life in a baby tree!

I just wondered ... do they have problems with the water level comes back up? Or is the level permanently low?

  15. They may be having problem, and I don't know whether they cope up. But there are some trees that submerge partially when water level increases. So let's hope these babies grow up huge.

  16. Trees are very generous! You are so right. I would like to see them planted and revered in more places - native species, of course.
