Steep Steps of Tikona Fort. Photos of the Second-Last Stage.

The second-last stage of the trail reaching the top of Tikona fort is the most dangerous one. The climb is so steep that even having steps there, one has to use hands too for climbing. The other parts of the trail do not have such clear steps, but still are far easier. Imagine if there were no steps here!

See the following photo. It creates quite an illusion of the call of death. The feeling was as if it is sucking up everything downwards. The photo has a directional illusion. Do you feel it? The photo was taken extending the camera on a tripod to get the top view of the falling steps. Do you see the shadow of the tripod?

Feel like falling from the steep steps of Tikona fort. This is at the second-last stage of the climb.

The following photo was taken sitting beside the steps on a small rock. It's quite dangerous at this place too!

Steep steps of Tikona, at the second-last stage.

And this one, oh dear this one, I just love this tree and the whole set-up nature has taken over. I had photographed this in the past also, in the winter of 2006; see my post named Splat Tree at Tikona [तिकोणा]. This place is just amazing or ghostly or horrifying. What do you think?

  5. Yes, it's in Pune district only, Deepa.

That was so funny of you :)

And the fact is that it isn't as difficult as it looks, at least for me; I carried everything up very easily. I have been to way more treacherous places than this one :)

  15. Oh, my gosh, Bhavesh, I have a terrible fear of unenclosed heights! Just thinking that you went up there frightens me! The pictures are phenomenal but I am glad you are not up there any more!

  16. You really did catch an incredible angle and feeling in all of these photos. Amazing.

I referred back to your previous picture of the tree, and find I like this one better ... not that the picture is better or anything, but because the lighting is different; more subdued, more gray. More mysterious.

  17. Bhavesh, once again you have taken us on a wonderful walk. The view from the top of the stairs is breath taking! It looks like a short-cut to somewhere. And that tree is holding things together really nicely....
