The Moon
Your beauty, cold and distant, Shines on many lands, Illuminating oceans, And shifting desert sands.
You light the poorest hovels, And palaces of gold, You see the kiss of lovers, And furtive acts unfold.
You've inspired artists, Who've painted many scenes, Of lovely pristene places, Swathed in pale moonbeams.
Writers praise your beauty, In prose and verse that rhymes, Man has been enthralled by you, Since prehistoric times.
Your lure will never leave us, As your secrets we explore, For as you shine above us, You make our spirits soar.
