Ground Skimmer [Diplacodes Trivialis]
The next one is sort of a funny photograph. Look at the front two legs. It seems that the Ground Skimmer Dragonfly is calling for a fight. Remember those calling fighters who pose their forearms exactly the same way when they call for fights?

Isn't this dragonfly a perfect machine in itself?

How wonderfully blessed you are to have been able to see this truly gorgeous creature up close. I am awe struck at the colors and patterns of this dragonfly!!! Ours around here are either black or black and white. Once I saw one with some shiny greens and blues ... but that's all.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you got these wonderful shots to share! I'm going to go back now for a second look.
Those are some incredibly macro shots, well done...Thomas
ReplyDeleteGlimpses of nature's grandeur. The flimsy layers of nature have always been an enigma for humankind...that we tend to forget we too are part of that flimsy layers.
ReplyDeleteGreat job meticulously taken.
@ Clytie: Even I was surprised by the beauty of the Ground Skimmer. Well, not highly because I have seen equivalently beautiful dragonflies of other sub-species. It is indeed my pleasure that you liked the photographs. I'm very happy. You are very welcome to come back. How are you doing by the way?
ReplyDelete@ Thomas and Shilpy: Thank you so much Thomas! Appreciation from a great photographer like you is a big thing.
@ cyclopseven: I hope all are reading your great comments in almost all my posts. If they are reading, their life will be better.
Bhavesh, you have truly outdone yourself this time. The photographs are superb and exciting. You should win a prize with these!
ReplyDelete@ RNSANE: Oh, you are so nice to say that! :)
ReplyDelete@ RNSANE: I hope National Geographic is seeing an upcoming photographer ;)
