Winking deer
The deer species is named correctly — Spotted Deer; it is because we "spotted" it winking! Hahaha! What do you say about this winking deer? Is it cute? I think yes very much! ;)
My best photos of Hawa Mahal
I have published Hawa Mahal photos and information in the past in the link. A few months back, when I photographed the beautiful Amber Fort at night, I photographed Hawa Mahal again on the way back. And those are these photos in this post. Enjoy the royal beauty of Hawa Mahal! These are the best photos of Hawa Mahal I have yet pixelled.
Heaven on Earth
This is one of our favorite spots enroute Tamhini Ghat from Pune city. Whenever we view the scenery there, we always feel that the location is truly like heaven on Earth. A couple of months back, we went to photograph Palse Waterfall that is on the same route. We did not miss visiting our favorite spot. It looks different every time, but beautiful all the time.
How to reach Heaven on Earth? ;)
• Drive to Mulshi Dam wall
• If you are driving from Pune, from near the wall, the road will become quite steep.
• Drive a few hundred meters until you reach a sharp right turn.
• Just that is the spot. See the location of Heaven on Earth on Google Maps.
• You will have to be a bit adventurous to fill your eyes with the beauty. Park on the sharp turn. Leave the road walking on the trail there. Just some ten meters leaving the road takes you to the ultimate spot.
Here I present you in this post with the best photos of heaven on Earth, in my view…
Vijay Stambh
Vijay Stambh [विजय स्तंभ] means Victory Tower. It is a symbol. Vijay Stambh was constructed on the order of King Rana Kumbha between 1442 and 1449. It is a 9 storied tower reaching a height of 39.19 meters. Vijay Stambh is really a wonder. Imagine something from such a past in time still standing straight and still as awe-inspiring as the time of its construction, in fact may be more now. Salute to the skillful construction planners and the strength of the labour.
Seeing Vijay Stambh in person is an out-of-the-world feeling. Imagining what must have taken to build such a masterpiece takes you back in time hundreds of years. Here are the 13 most spectacular views of Vijay Stambh from different surrounding locations that I could photograph from.
Juvenile Male Sambar Deer
Although we couldn't see any tiger in Ranthambhore National Park, spotting this juvenile male sambar deer was almost as equally lucky as spotting a tiger! This is a vulnerable species.
