Holi

Holi is the festival of burning off evil of any sort. Holi is the festival of forgetting any misunderstandings and cementing bonds of friendship and love again. I photographed the fire of holi 2 days back, in the night when the spirit of goodness was ignited.

The fire of holi is actually bonfire set as an icon and remembrance of Holika's end and purity's win. Prahlad had miraculously escaped the wicked intentional bonfire set by demoness Holika. She sat in bonfire and had put baby Prahlad in her lap. She had the power to keep alive in fire. But purity and goodness of Prahlad inverted the power; baby Prahlad was safe and Holika got destroyed. This is the essence of the festival of holi — the win of goodness over evil.
