Major Award

Bharat at Unseen Rajasthan has given me this Major Award. He has his travel business and has a dedicated website for the business — www.unseenrajasthan.com. On his blog, he has some very rare and majestic places showcased!

TV Tower on Sinhagad - Going Inside Clouds

It was so majestic to see the giant man-made creation merging in the giant phenomenon of the almighty nature, when I was on Sinhagad on 27-June-2009. See the below photograph. It is a TV tower on the second highest peak of Maharashtra state of India — on Sinhagad. It's monsoon time, and the clouds make a soft blanket on this old fort.

Height of Cruelty

I'm so much saddened after looking at the below video. It feels so insulting not just for the trees but for nature too. What a clear meaning of "creation in years, destruction in seconds". The person operating the machine may not have imagined how long it has taken for the most-generous species on the planet to grow this big. However, he or the owner of the operations are not the only criminals of nature. We are more contributors to this destruction than them. The following line may help explaining what I want to say — "when buying stops, killing too will".

I hope the following video creates some pain in our hearts, so that we start acting for conserving the beautiful environment on this wonderful planet, rather than appreciating the capabilities of this machine.

Run of House Hotel Rooms

I just found a new term called "Run of House" used in terms of hotel room reservations. It's quite interesting and worth! Whenever you get a hotel room reservation titled "Run of House" it probably is the best deal. Actually it is a deep discounted room. The rate of the room is far lower than the standard rates of the hotel. The only difference between a normal booking and a Run of House booking is that any particular room is not allocated at the time of booking, but the best available room is given at the time of check-in. You must be having a question — how is this the best deal? Here are the 2 important points giving answer to that…
• It's the cheapest rate, also called deep-discounted rate
• You get the best available room at the time of check-in. So if you are visiting at the time the hotel is less occupied, you may get a free upgrade to a suite or the best available room!

However there's a disadvantage too — if you end up being there at the time the hotel is highly occupied, you may get a bad-view room (say parking facing). But it's not important due to the following 2 points…
• You have got the best rate (10/10)
• Bad-view is just a probability (?/10)

I'm sure I will be searching for "Run of House" rooms/rates when making my next hotel reservation. The chances of getting better rooms at less price seem way more to me :)

Kanda Bhaji from Sinhgadh (AKA Sinhgad, Sinhagad, Sinhagadh)

This is a very tasty food that we had on our trip to Sinhgadh last Saturday. Sinhgadh is a very well-known fort in Maharashtra state of India, and the second highest peak in the state. Perhaps, I should publish a post on it. But coming to the topic, Kanda Bhaji is highly tempting and mouth-watering. About 50% available food on the fort is this only. It's a typical Indian food — very spicy and oily. It actually is long-cut-onion dumplings, deep-fried, and served with red-chilly-powder-paste coated tiny onion pieces.
