Bronze Oil Lamp

I have no clear memory when we bought this bronze oil lamp! Or is it that someone gifted it to us? What I clearly remember is that I used it to have some product photography. An old looking bronze oil lamp was a perfect suit. I photographed some other products also. I hope you will like this photo.

When I was in Jaisalmer, I remember seeing some very amazing artifacts, one of them was a bronze oil lamp. But the bronze oil lamp in the photo above is not that, because I had not purchased one at Jaisalmer.

Well anyway, let me rub this bronze oil lamp on one side to see if a spirit comes out and grants me 3 wishes. Of course, the first one will be that he fulfills all my future wishes. The balance 2 can be used any time :)

Grey Heron

A few days back, we went to a very popular bird spotting site named Bhigwan, about 100 kilometers from my home. Huge flocks of migratory birds arrive there every year. We had plans to photograph painted storks and flamingos. The water level and wide mud-lining around the lake didn’t give us a chance to get close to painted storks that had already arrived. So we will have to wait for a month or two for the water level to lower and the mud to dry, and then revisit. And flamingos hadn’t arrived yet! What came to our sight was Grey Heron everywhere.

We were about to reach Bhigwan when a grey heron flied from above us. We reached there and a grey heron was waiting to welcome us. We parked our car at a safe place, opened a door, and a grey heron took flight of fear! We walked a bit, looked left and a grey heron was having breakfast of a frog :) We turned right and there was a grey heron shamelessly showing off its ugly body inside, opening its wings full apart.

The trip was to photograph painted storks and flamingos. What we were gifted was uncountable number of grey heron. But it was not a waste at all. The photographs of grey heron we were able to record are simply exceptional in our view. Let me know what you think looking at these 2 photos of grey heron.

Aerial view of beach

In our recent Konkan trip, I was fortunate enough to revisit the beautiful Anjarle and Harne beaches after 4-5 years. It was as beautiful as it was in the past. A few things did change for the bad just like when humans come over. But this beach was thankfully as it was.

Getting an aerial view of beach was a big gain of the trip. The below photo is an aerial view of beach of Anjarle. The tri-color looked awesome from this height. I loved to take this photo. Do you love this photo?

Lady Motorbike

India is amazing, really! There is something new everyday. Life is not monotonous, is joyous and diversified. Else who will find a lady motorbike anywhere? I'm unlucky that I am not free full day along with my camera. Else this blog would have been full of unusually amazing things of India.

A few months back, when I visited Bhuleshwar, there was this lady motorbike parked outside the temple. As it was a lady motorbike, she tried her best to look pretty. She gave a photogenic pose, and I did not miss the chance :)

Falling down

I am a tree. I am falling down because humans are rising up! See, there is my child with me — a budding tree. It is also falling down because humans have grazing animals that are not letting my child grow! Humans are cutting us and are not letting our children grow. One day, we will be in countable numbers, and humans will regret. We are losing grip on hills and mountains. We are falling down due to missing soil. We are falling down due to exploitation. We are falling down without our wish. We are falling down even if we are keeping all alive.

See my legs are slipping, even my child's. We both are falling down. Please save us to save the future of uncountable species. Don't you think that I am the most humble species? You give carbon dioxide, but I return oxygen. You take everything from me, but I never stop giving. You like me but cut me off; I have no view about liking you but I keep you alive. When you need shade, you take my shadow, but when I need you, you think about money. I will still keep praying until my last alive moment that god bless all on the planet.

Have you seen my previous post named Leaf Fan? Although, I was not intending to relate that post with the ceiling fans, it somehow is getting connected that way! Today, I found a very interesting website named Hansen Wholesale Ceiling Fans. Check it out! They have a huge variety of ceiling fans at wholesale prices. A kind of a leaf fan is on their Fanimation Palmetto Ceiling Fan Model FP601AB product page. The side photo is of that product.

That's not the direction of this post however. Actually I have a natural leaf fan to show you! I went to Shivneri fort yesterday. On the top, there was a leafless tree surprisingly with only 5 leaves at the end of a branch. Those leaves formed the shape of a fan!

The sky was bright and the leaf fan was translucent. The natural display was impressive! Do you like the photo?

Shades of green color

No matter what we humans try, we cannot ever create the uncountable automated masterpieces that nature has created and has put on display for millions of years. Take this one for example, in the photo below. It is a simple small plant, but it is so beautiful with almost unlimited shades of green color, from the lightest of it to the darkest. There is a limitation on how many shades of green color a camera can capture, and a monitor can display. Our eyes are a different type of masterpiece. It can see what a camera cannot. Looking at so many shades of green color from the eyepiece of my camera was way more beautiful than this photo. Still, let me dare to ask you all — do you like this photo?

It was a hot afternoon in Varandha ghat a couple of months back when winter was not on peak in India. We were getting uncomfortable by the extremely hot Indian climate. So we decided to return to home. On the way back, we halted at one place to take a break. What do you think I can do when I have free time? Of course, look out for things to photograph. Then was it that I found this masterpiece with almost unlimited shades of green color.

I have been to Konkan thrice in my life. In the first visit, we enjoyed the clean and fresh waters of Vashishti river. When I saw the river, I said to myself, "Enjoy". We spent quite a lot of time enjoying nature and wonderful scenery around.

In India, people are deprived of dependable and most powerful power supply that can serve to the huge number of population getting out of control. So what do they do? They throw their power grid cables on to the sun.

Fun Learning Maths

My nephew is seeking calculus help. Does anyone have it? I know I should have remembered my school and college times when calculus was a big topic to be studied and understood. But God only knows how I cleared mathematics papers all the time with things such as calculus, trigonometry, etc. as I never had any interest in learning those topics. Of course, the time has changed and so have I. Now when there is no use of learning those things, I am getting interested in those topics! Weird isn't it?

What I found on the internet is the link above for calculus. There are some other topics discussed and explained on that website such as statistics help and geometry help. The information seems adequate. But there is always a scope to know more. After all, we are living in information era where whatever you know is useful, today or tomorrow.

Mathematics is becoming a fun topic for me! Thanks to my nephew who is persistent :) Actually I was an expert in mathematics when I was up to standard 4. I used to score above 96%. And then came the fifth standard :) I know you all are laughing :)

Colocation

I discovered a new term today — Colocation. It is a bit technical, but let me explain. What is colocation? Colocation is a actually a huge data center that is used by multiple companies to locale their server, network and storage requirement. Why is colocation used? It is used to save costs and reduce complexity.

There are several web hosting companies providing managed hosting and colocation services. I think I will have to spread this idea to my clients. They will be happy to know and implement this idea to save their cost and to become safer. Obviously, only the bigger ones will need such service in my opinion. So my approach will be on a case-to-case basis.

And oh yes, did I mention that there is a difference between a shared hosting service and a colocation hosting service? Actually, the difference is big. Shared hosting service is where many companies host their stuff on a shared server that is prone to vulnerabilities. Companies usually opt for a dedicated server if vulnerability is to be reduced. But purchasing or hiring a dedicated server is a costly affair that needs much maintenance in the due term. Colocation resolves the problems with dedicated hosting as even though the server is owned by the company it is located and maintained by a colocation center. Money saved is money earned.

If you are not aware, I recently visited Konkan. See my post named In darkness published 6 days back.

The mornings of Konkan made me re-realize many things. One of those was source of all. The source of all is the universe. The nearest part of it for all living and dead on earth is our sun. Every time I look at the sun, I surf on the thoughts of understanding how powerful it is. It is the source of all, relating locally.

One of those mornings gave me the below photograph. I could compose it in a way to show that the tree has sun inside it, keeping it alive. Do you like the photo?
